After collecting our results from the questionaire we created and gave out to 20 people between the ages of 12-50+, we have come back with the following results.
- Most people over the age of 16 enjoy watching horror films and watch them on a regular basis.
- People under 14 seem to mainly enjoy comedies.
- Everyone thinks that music is an important element for horror films in some way.
- Most people generally prefer serial killers as the main character in horror films.
- The people over the age of 35 generally don’t like horrors.
- frequently mentioned horror films that people have said they enjoy is insidious and paranormal activity.
In conclusion our group will have to come up with a suitable story board that fits the brief and will enable people to identify it as a horror opening sequence and to support the ideas that have been given out during our market research. We will have to include scary music and typical horror iconography in order to make the opening sequence successful. The main character will most likely be some type of serial killer as this seems to be what most people prefer to see in horror films.
